Nissan R has finally arrived in the form of a limited
14th February 2011

The much anticipated ‘hotted-up’ version of the Nissan GT-R has finally arrived in the form of a limited edition GT-R SpecV, a vehicle that has been designed and targeted “specifically at enthusiast drivers who desire race car-level performance in a street-legal vehicdoes not also have performance upgrades, eg a more powerful engine, Perodua MD Datuk Syed Abdull Hafiz Syed Abu Bakar said that their market surveys have told them that the majority of customers are mainly interested in cosmetic features and many will spend quite a lot of money on bodykits.
“So we feel that if this is what our customers also like, then we will meet their demands,” he said.
For the new Myvi SE, the first identifier is the ‘hero colour’ which is Tangerine Orange. It’s new to the Myvi and if you don’t like it, you can also have your Myvi SE in Ivory White (non-metallic), Ebony Black, Glittering Silver or Pearl White (special metallic finish with extra charge).
From the pictures, you should be able to see what’s new but in case you miss them, this is the full list: new bumper design with integrated foglamp, ‘black-out’ headlamp units, wide rear roof spoiler, smoked clear rear lighting units, new rear bumper design, and a special surface treatment for the alloy rims (14 inches with 175/65 tyres).
The interior is a dark shade with leather upholstery for the seats and steering wheel wrapping. The audio system is a 2-DIN type (which means you can change the head unit without too much hassle) and the CD player has MP3/WMA capability and you can also connect a USB stick as well as use the Bluetooth interface.
Unique to the New Myvi SE is the red-themed Optitron instrument panel, certainly adding a sporty touch to the interior (especially at night). Red and orange illumination are actually good for night driving as the colour does not affect the eyes so much, which is why aircraft instrument panels use amber or red illumination.
The enhancements that the New Myvi SE carries are basically aesthetic. It still runs on the same 1.3-liter unit producing 86 ponies at 6,000rpm and 116Nm of torque at 3,200rpm and to keep the ponies under control, Perodua has entrusted the same set-up of steel discs up front and drum brakes at thele

Nissan has unveiled the all-new Juke, an intriguing “part SUV, part sports car” which the Japanese car maker hopes will provide a funky alternative to the run-of-the-mill hatchback.
Developed from the Qazana concept car and following in the footsteps of the Murano and Dualis models, the Juke was designed in London at the Nissan Design Europeand refined at Nissan’s Design Centre ( Japan.
ombining the best elements of an SUV and a sports car, the lower portion of the Juke with its chunky wheels, wide tyres, extended ground clearance and a robust stance is all SUV. The top portion, however, boasts a high waistline, slim visor-like side glass graphics and a coupé-style falling roofline - all the hallmarks of a sports car.
The interior of the Juke boasts a sports car theme with the motorcycle full tank inspired centre console design finished in a distinctive high gloss colour taking centre stage.
Available in front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations, the part SUV, part sports car will be available with three different engines: one diesel and two 1.6-litre petrol units. The top-of-the-range mill is a turbo-charged unit with direct injection and develops a class-leading 140 kW and 240 Nm.
The 2011 Nissan Juke will make its worldwide debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March. It is unknown if the Nissan Juke will be sold in Australia at this stage.
Nissan’s position as the pioneer of Crossovers is further strengthened by the arrival of Juke. Part SUV, part sports car, Juke breathes new life into the traditionally conservative B-segment of the market, providing buyers with a funky alternative to the conventional urban hatchback.
Quote:
“Juke brings a sense of adventure to the car market. It’s light, nimble, urban, reactive: qualities designed to grab a younger audience. It offers something entirely different to the traditional B-segment vehicles and cements Nissan as a car maker prepared to do something different.” Andy Palmer, Senior Vice President, Product Planning, Nissan Motor Co., Nissan is set to change the urban landscape… for the third time. Following in the wheeltracks of the Murano large crossover and then the successful Qashqai – the car that three years ago introduced the concept of a crossover as an alternative to the traditional C-segment hatchback – comes its younger brother, the Nissan Juke.
Designed to bring a breath of fresh air to the B-segment, Juke is a distinctive combination of SUV toughness and sporting style. Conceived to inject some masculinity and dynamism into the small car market, Juke combines a number of seeming contradictions beneath its highly individual lines.
“It takes the best elements of an SUV and sports car and combines them,” says Pierre Loing, Vice President, Product Planning, Nissan Europe. “It’s roomy yet compact, robust yet dynamic and practical yet playful. These are qualities that seem to contradict each other, yet come together in Juke to create something that’s genuinely unique.”
Juke was created at Nissan Design Europe (NDE) in the heart of London, and refined at Nissan’s Design Centre (NDC) in Japan. Principle engineering took place in Japan with significant European input and Juke will be built in Nissan’s factory in Sunderland in the north-east of England.
“The design shows real optimism. By combining design elements from two genres to create a small, but striking Crossover that displays a genuine confidence and style. And those are qualities we also expect to find in a Juke customer,” said Shiro Nakamura, Senior Vice President for Design and Chief Creative Officer
From a design standpoint, the lower portion of Juke is pure SUV, with chunky wheels, wide tyres, extended ground clearance and a robust stance. But the top portion is unadulterated sports car, with a high waistline, slim visor-like side glass graphics and a coupé-style falling roofline. The coupé effect is further underlined by the rear doors which have their handles hidden in the frame of the door.
Inside, the sports car theme continues with a driver-focused cabin dominated by a centre console design inspired by a motorcycle fuel tank. Finished in a distinctive high gloss colour, the ‘bike’ console adds a sense of fun to the car. Practicality is assured by the rear-opening hatch and versatile luggage area with hidden storage opportunities.
Based on the Renault Nissan Alliance B platform, Juke has a 2530mm wheelbase. On front-wheel drive versions, suspension is by MacPherson struts at the front with a torsion beam at the rear while four-wheel drive models have a multi-link rear suspension modelled on the system found on Qashqai.

any people are worried about the damage their cars are causing to the environment and they want to find ways how they can resolve this situation. Nissan MicraOwners of Nissan cars are known for their love towards the environment hence it should not be surprising that they are consistently looking out for new models of Nissan cars that are eco friendly and that have lower CO2 emissions.
The relationship between the users and the manufacturers of Nissan cars has been great and it was not long before the manufacturers of the famous Japanese car tried to do something for the environment of the planet. This resulted in the manufacture of the car, the Nissan Altima Hydra. The standard Nissan Altima Hydra consumes just 10.1 barrels of crude oil per year. Just compare this with the 13.2 barrels that the conventional Altima consumes and you will understand the vast difference this new car is doing to conserve the ecology of the planet.
This is done without compromising on the efficiency of the car or its performance. If you drive approximately 15,000 miles per year, the greenhouse version of the Altima will give off just 5.4 greenhouse gas emissions per year, whereas its regular version will spew out nearly 7.1 tons per year. This goes to show that Nissan is no doubt working, like all other reliable and caring car manufactu

esterday, Scion revealed their brand spankin’ new 2011 tC to the world’s automotive press here at the New York Auto Show. We happen to think the car looks just fine, but will admit that for a youth oriented brand such as Scion, a little bit more aggression might have been nice. Meet the Five Axis tuned Scion tC, a car that couldn’t get much more aggressive unless it was holding a gun. A really big one. If you don’t know, Five Axis is mostly known for their show car offerings.
The “Blood Shot Red” paint is slathered over a four-inch wide body kit. The lower grill is just plain nuts. Sadly the doors of this concept were locked, but we could see (but not really photograph) that the interior’s stuffed with all sorts of customized good stuff, with lots of what appears to be leather and suede. The suspension is made up of Tein adjustable coil-overs. The brakes are ginormous (especially for a 180-horsepower tC), measuring 14-inches in front and 13-inches in the rear. But the brakes aren’t the crazy part.

way, and all of Europe’s tuners are set to unveil their latest and greatest aftermarket parts at Germany’s version of SEMA. One of those companies will be speedArt, which will be introducing its new performance and appearance packages for the 2010 Porsche Panamera.
Using the Panamera Turbo as a base, speedArt have transformed Porsche‘s four-door into a 650-horsepower monster thanks to larger turbochargers, an upgraded exhaust system and a revised ECU. The German tuner claims impressive performance figures: a top speed of over 200 mph and 0-100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds.
The body kit fitted to the PS9-650 is fairly subtle, and dare we say tasteful. The aerodynamic package consists of a front chin spoiler that improves air flow to the brakes, rear diffuserroof spoiler side skirts and a rear bumper. Several other items are available as well including 22-inch forged wheels; an upholstered steering wheel; various trim pieces in aluminum, wood, or carbon fiber; and color-matched stitching.

Ahead of its planned LA Auto Show debut, Nissan‘s 2009 Murano is doing the sneak preview thing courtesy of the NICOclub forums where these pics originated. They’ve since been posted on GM Inside News and FreshAlloy.com, as well. Clearly not wanting to mess with success, the CUV’s general overall shape, as well as that of its side glass, is fundamentally the same. The ’09 gets more muscular, Rogue-ish wheel flares, taillamps that extend into the rear hatch, and a new front end that makes silver Muranos look kinda like the updated Cylon centurions from Battlestar Galactica. We don’t get a good view of the passenger cabin, other than to see a panoramic roof is obviously an option. Hopefully the current car’s chintzy-looking gauge cluster got flushed in the revamp

re not familiar with Continuously Variable Transmissions, the big idea is that they’re steplessf the familiar first gear, second gear, third gear stuff, any ratio you care to name is available (within limits). The upshot is near ideal matching of the engine’s characteristics to your acceleration, cruising, or hill-climbing, needs. It’s a better powertrain matchmaker, so to speak.
Strangely, Nissan appears to be the planet’s sole car company to have figured out CVTs. Although our Rogue didn’t include the cool shifter paddles that are optional on S and SL versions (providing what amounts to “virtual gears” for those suffering from conventional-transmission withdrawals), you can still pop it into “low” for extra poop and all the rest of the time reap all those CVT World-of-Tomorrow wonders. Without the groaning and rubber-banding they typically inflict.
The Rogue’s handling is another data point way off the curve. Despite its tall stance, it turns in enthusiastically with little of the listing its competitors exhibit — just the thing for impatient young drivers threading through traffic trying to get to the Radiohead concert. Ah, but there’s a downside to a short-length, tall vehicle possessing lighting reflexes.
It’s ride quality. If you’re older than about 26, having inelastic portions of your body paint-shakered into a quivering blur is no longer amusing. Worse, your Red Bull gets all frothy. Warning: Any occupant needing either a child seat or reading glasses has no business in this car. The ride is simply brutal.
The Rogue also turns the hooligan trait of trading functionality for sporty looks into a perverse art form. The stern is all angled eye candy from the outside, frustrating packaging from the inside. And how about its peek-a-boo, tapering side-window treatment? Let’s agree that it’s a good thing you’re young enough to have no reason to be backing up in any preschool parking lots any time soon.
And that’s just the point: Someone like you wouldn’t be caught dead at Twinkle-Time Preschool, or for that matter, hitting Home Depot for appliances any time soon, either. The Rogue’s about being seen in, not seeing out of. Showing up with snowboards on the roof, surfboards in the back, and fun in mind. If any of this makes you furiously nod your head in agreement, the Rogueems to be a car for every possible whim. Don’t believe it? Okay, say you’re young, kids are a long (long) way off, you rather fancy yourself a square peg in a round-hole world, and, most crucial, you’re the sporty type who might spontaneously head to the mountains one weekend and to a rock concert in the desert the next. Which car?2008 Nissan Rogue SL
Hmmm…you sound like the Rogue type to us. No, not you personally, but the Nissan Rogue. We might not be analyzing 29 parameters of compatibility here, but we’re seasoned people/car matchmakers, so trust us. All right, as Ronald Reagan wisely said, “Trust but verify” — so here’s some substantiation, too.
For starters, the Rogue is a heck of a value, important to young folks saddled with student loans and expensive jeans to pay for. Rogue prices range from $19,995 for the front-drive version in base S trim to $22,735 for an SL-equipped AWD. Both are a steal, with the AWD, in particular, representing a lot of capability for the money. Value argument? Check.
Next, it’s sporty. With a 0-to-60-mph sprint in 8.0 seconds flat and handling that can howl-up 0.78 g at the cornering limit, it’s the brisk little ‘ute that can. In fact, the Rogue’s performance numbers border on physics-defying — or at least expectations-challenging — given that it’s working with no more than a middling 170 hp from its 2.5L, four-cylinder engine against a fairly typical curb weight in this category — 3359 lb. So why is it a second to a second-and-a-half quicker to 60 mph than virtually as for you. Pretty good matchmaker, e

probably will feel most contemporary when it comes to features. It’ll be available with all the latest infotainment items, such as a navigation system, Bluetooth cell-phone connectivity, and a USB iPod interface. But Nissan should consider spreading these features more liberally throughout the lineup to stay abreast of newer rivals likely to equip even their entry-level models with some of the most popular gizmos.
For example, a USB interface has been standard on every Sentra except the base 2.0 model, which makes due with an auxiliary plug. Similarly, you’ve had to pony up for a Sentra 2.0 SL or one of the SE-R duo to be eligible for Bluetooth or a navigation system. Even then, Sentra’s navigation system is a rather elementary unit. It’s available at a reasonable $400 or so and includes traffic updates, but lack of voice recognition and a modestly sized 5-inch screen limit its versatility compared with the admittedly costlier systems in some rivals.
On the upside, model-year 2011 changes equipped every Sentra with a full complement of safety gear. So instead of being optional on selected models, features like antilock brakes (ABS) for surer stops, an antiskid system for better stability in turns, and traction control for optimum grip off the line will continue as standard on every 2012 Sentra.
On the amenities side, Nissan could reasonably conclude it’s too late in this Sentra’s lifecycle to tinker much with features availability. So expect the 2012 Sentra 2.0 SL to remain the only model available with leather upholstery (figure $700 or so) and along with the SE-R models, the only one eligible for the optional power moonroof. All but the entry-level 2.0 model should continue for 2012 with cruise control and remote keyless entry as standard.

o be a visual repeat of the 2011 Sentra. In a category rapidly filling with daring aero-themed designs, the 2012 Sentra will soldier on with rather upright proportions and some unfortunate styling details. Its shape does give occupants plenty of head room, though. And its long wheelbase provides good leg room.
Wheelbase is the distance between the front and rear axles and the 2012 Sentra’s 105.7-inch span will still be longer than that of many newer compact sedans. The no-nonsense dashboard is another plus. But the 2012 Sentra isn’t likely to take a big step forward by upgrading the quality of its merely serviceable cabin materials – another shortfall in an area rivals use as a selling point. Many competitors also have multiple body styles. The 2012 Sentra comes only as a sedan, but is available in a commendably wide array of trim levels. Nissan could cull the roster for the swan-song 2012 season, but we’d expect the lineup to again include six models, starting with the entry-level 2.0 version and climbing to the 2.0 S and 2.0 SL models.
The sporty-looking 2012 Sentra 2.0 SR model should return along with the sporty-performing SE-R and SE-R Spec V. All models now wear a trunklid spoiler originally reserved for the SE-R duo, but only the 2.0 SR, SE-R, and SE-R Spec V have driving lights and lower-body skirting. The 2012 Nissan Sentra SE-R and SE-R Spec V models will again be further distinguished by more aggressive front and rear fascias and unique 17-inch alloy wheels. The 2012 Sentra 2.0 model will retain 15-inch wheels. The other 2.0 models should continue with 16s. Alloy wheels will likely again be optional on the 2.0 SR and standard on the 2.0 SL. The two SE-R models probably will stay with 17-inch alloys

mped cabins. Full-size adults fit just fine, thanks to the Sentra’s tall hatchback roots — its platform is derived from the Euro-market Renault M?gane. Despite this French connection, the Sentra retains Nissan’s trademark sporty-yet-functional interior design, including orange backlighting and a nicely contoured steering wheel. However, its driving character is just so-so by the ever-escalating standards of this segment.
The 2010 Nissan Sentra is offered in six trim levels: base model 2.0 includes 15-inch steel wheels, power windows and locks, 60/40-split-folding rear seats, air-conditioning and a four-speaker sound system with a CD player and an auxiliary audio jack. Add-ons for the base 2.0 are few.
The 2010 Nissan Sentra receives a new optional navigation system (late availability) that includes a 5-inch color screen and real-time traffic information. Other tweaks include revised headlights and taillights for all models, a new grille and front fascia for the 2.0, 2.0 S and 2.0 SL, a standard 4.3-inch color-display audio head unit with iPod and Bluetooth controls for 2.0 SL and the SE-R models, and an optional back-up camera for the navigation system. Also, the 2.0SL receives standard stability control, but its leather upholstery is now optional rather than standard. Finally, the slight fuel economy increase provided by last year’s “” trim level has been
