Renault-Nissan starts commercial production of Micra
20th July 2011
The booking of the Renault-Nissan Micra has started today. It has stated a mild marketing last month, but now the company has started its full force campaign.
The Franco-Japanese joint venture, Renault Nissan Automotive India has announced that this car will be the major rival of Tata’s “people’s car”. So Tata Nano is having its competitor now.
Apart from Nano, it can be a threat to Hyundai Motor’s i10 and i20, and Ford India’s Figo as well. The commercial production of the compact car Micra has been started.
The company has informed that the domestic sales of the car would begin from the month of July this year and its exports will commence from September 2010.
Chief Operating Officer of Renault Nissan Automotive India, Mr. Toshiyuki Shiga has said that the Indian automobile industry is having a huge potential. It’s growing at an exceptional rate. So the market is quite challenging for the company. The Micra is basically a product to satisfy the discerning consumer needs of India. He has also said that the car will also be exported to Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Nissan GT-R named Car of the Year
17th November 2008
Nissan has hit a major home run with its latest Skyline, known as the GT-R here in the States. In fact, the car was knocked so far out of the park that it seems an obvious choice for anyone’s Car of the Year. Nissan’s latest supercar boasts enough performance to take on the best from the rest of the world regardless of price, making it an amazing value despite costing upwards of $80,000. As such, the new GT-R has been awarded the Car of the Year trophy from Automobile Mag. Who are we to argue?
